Windhagen marathon

Good day, dear readers!~

This time I want to share a very special moment with you: I ran my first half official half marathon today! I've already trained for this distance quite a long time and was registered for two other competitions, but unfortunately I wasn't able to start these days due to other circumstances... Well, this time I was, after two years of trying! ^____^
The competition was called "Windhagen marathon" and led through a forest as well as over meadows and fields. And it was not only a flat route: One has to overcome 437 metres of altitude in total. You constantly run up and down the hills what can be quite exhausting after six or seven kilometres already... But at least the track leads through nice landscapes and you can distract yourself well not to get crazy by just running straight ahead over asphalt.
The weather wasn't the best, but in general the conditions for jogging were great: Not too warm because of a cloudy sky, a slight cooling wind and for a short time even enjoyable nizzle rain~ I'm not the person who likes jogging with high degrees or shining sun, I'm getting circulation problems easily then. Lower degrees and average weather are the best conditions for doing sports outside, in my opinion ^___^
Although I lost my breath from time to time I've dealt with it better than I had expected. But it is just awful to run up a steep path from km 19 onwards >___<; who wouldn't walk there? Every reasonable person did... But all in all it was a good tour and I didn't overstrained myself~
At the end I'm somehow proud to have finished this tour since the topography was a real challenge and isn't comparable to flat city runs. I've ended up with 2 hours and five minutes time what is quite a satisfying result for me~

Cheers!~
Okay folks, after 21 kilometres, over 1100 burned calories and much effort it's obligatory to have a finisher drink! Beer without alcohol refreshes better than water~ ^__^ although I still don't like the taste of beer... It has to be!~

And finally the finisher medal! ^___^ I like the idea of getting a little reward for one's effort and one's personal performance. I will take good care of it and owe it a special place in my room~

I will try my best to participate again next year: Although it's not the easiest tour concerning the altitude metres, it is a challenge I liked to face. Moreover: Don't you always challenge yourself when signing up for an official competition?

Thank you for reading and see you next time!
Junsui~
